Fund Raising Events

July 2010

On the last day of term Nikki  Mackay gave the school a cheque for £740

and we have asked the parent council for £270 more to help us improve our school environment. With this money we will buy a wooden “boat”  and magnifying post from Caledonian Play

September 2010

Things to do

1.Get another adult on the Eco committee.

2.Do a second environmental review.

3.Put all our reviews on the blog.

4.Report Eco news in assembly.

5.Change from energy to improve our school.

6.Miss Bate needs to look at the curriculum plan.

7.Sustainable development. We went to the housing expo. We have also been to Aigas. We all recycle. We grow our own veg. We compost. We have a leaf bin,and we have a plastic bottle green house.

8.Eco code everywhere.

9.We need to review the Eco code.

Tasty  Tatties

In September we dug up our potatoes that we planted in the spring.

We boiled some and ate them with our roast lunch  and they were delicious!

We also made leek and potato soup with the rest of the potatoes and two mums came to help us .  We served the soup on a friday lunch time and invited everyone to have some and some of us came back  for seconds! We decided not to charge too much and we made £9.10

October 2010

The FairTrade/Do Good Group sent out Fairtrade Christmas catalogues. Oders of roughly £500 were placed and we hope to raise £75. The group will meet decide what to do with the money raised.

News flash!

The parent council have agreed to give us the money.

Eco Day – Tuesday 5th October

Miss Bate and the older members of the Eco Committee met to discuss what they needed to do in order to apply for the Green Flag Award. It was decided that the Blog needed updating, more Eco codes and Litter policies to be displayed throughout the school and community. We need to review the Eco code and Action Plan and get letters out about the Gardening Club.
